Some time ago we wanted to enjoy the lakes and rivers near our home and that’s when my wife came up with the idea of buying two Intex challenger k1 kayaks. This article is about Intex Challenger K1 Kayak Review.
It was a great purchase that we are still enjoying as never before (they have been used for 3 years now).
In this article, we will tell you all the advantages and disadvantages of this kayak.

Intex Challenger K1 Kayak Review
First, let’s look at the manufacturer’s specifications.
Inflated size: 9 ft X 2ft 6in X 1ft 1in
Persons capacity: 1
Maximum weight capacity: 220 pounds
U.S. Coast Guard I.D. – NMMA Certified
TUV approved
Those are some of the specifications, it also comes with an aluminum paddle and some patches. All this comes in a fabric carrying bag.
Keeping it in the bag is sometimes complicated, but with a little patience, it is always possible to keep it in the bag.
Inflating it with the manual pump (included) takes about 20 minutes, but we bought a 12v pump and it inflates in very few minutes.
It is always necessary to dry it completely to store it, and when it is for a long time (winter) we put some talcum powder on it and we never store it with something on top.
As an additional feature, it has a fin that offers excellent navigation.
- Nimble, durable kayak is made of durable welded material with eye catching graphics for added safety on the lake or slow moving river
- Cockpit is designed for comfort and maximized space, and inflatable I beam floors add stability. Removable skeg provides exceptional directional movement
- Cargo net to store extra gear, and grab line on both ends of kayak; inflatable seat with backrest

Pros And Cons Of The Intex Challenger K1 Inflatable Kayak
Both kayaks have been with us for about 3 years. We have kayaked rivers and lakes in our state (Arkansas) and have never had a problem. We both fish from these kayaks very carefully as the hooks can damage them, but so far, we have had no problems.
Only once a kayak got a puncture but we don’t know with what, the problem was simply fixed with a patch and we never had any more problems.

+The Positives
Resistant to impact against rocks (do not exceed).
The paddles are suitable
The seat is very comfortable
Fits in almost any vehicle trunk
The fin improves navigation.
Quick and easy inflation process.
The net it has is very useful for carrying various objects, I carry a small fishing box and water.
βThe Negatives
On very sunny days, it heats up quickly and can be annoying, but this can be solved by adding a little water.
In very strong winds it can be a little difficult to paddle, as it is a light kayak.
Final Conclusions Intex Challenger K1 Inflatable Kayak
We are really very happy with our kayaks. We are always looking forward to the spring to enjoy nature with them. Thanks to these kayaks we got to know places we would never have reached.
